Reporting to the CDC Warehouse Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The primary purpose of the CDC Shift Supervisor is to efficiently control and manage the overall shift, that includes operations and resources. The outcome will be a safe and efficient shift that delivers a quality product to the end customer according to company policies and procedures.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Operation and Execution:
Receiving to be verified and Captured on SAP
Daily checks are carried out to ensure voltage, cleanliness and presentation of products are acceptable
Perform daily cycle counts
Support on monthly stocktake
Process SAV to seconds for damages
Identify and escalate slow moving / obsolete stock on the floor
Manages the labelling process to minimise mistakes
Ensure all picking is scanned
Ensure daily dispatch according to delivery schedule and load report.
Support both local, SDA’s and exports dispatch and collections
Supervise & assist with the debriefing of all returning vehicles ensuring timeous and accurate offloading of vehicles.
Ensures daily rotations
Ensure that scrap is loaded timeously
Plan daily activities and workloads to ensure efficient workflow.
Coordinate with other supervisors or managers to manage shifts, schedules, and employee rotations.
Ensure proper handover between shifts, communicating any important information or issues to the next shift supervisor
Assist in cycle counting, stocktaking, and maintaining records of inventory movements.Address discrepancies in inventory and report them to the warehouse manager • Communicate effectively with other departments, such as shipping, receiving, and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.
Address any customer-related issues or complaints that arise during the shift and ensure timely resolution.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety.
Collaborate with other supervisors and managers to develop and implement warehouse best practices
People Management:
Ensures ongoing training and development of employees
Addresses employee relations matters fairly and promptly.
Sign off Weekly and Monthly Payroll
Manage staff according to standard operational procedures.
Manage staff leave requirements
Address corrective actions accordingly
Report employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and support to ensure high productivity.
Train new employees on warehouse operations, safety procedures, and company policies.
Conduct ongoing training sessions to improve team skills and knowledge of warehouse equipment and technology.
Identify opportunities for employee development and recommend training programs.
Respond to and resolve conflicts or issues among team members promptly and professionally.
Compliance:
Compliance with applicable regulations and procedures
Identifies and reports risks or areas of concern
Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
Maintain LOS and manage FIFO
Responsible for Health and Safety by creating awareness, as well as to address all unsafe practices in a timeous manner.
Ensure low voltage stock on floor is escalated and moved for charging
Maintain a high level of housekeeping within warehouses
Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures to minimize errors and damages.
Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other regulations.
Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses and implement corrective actions Reporting and Admin
Check and sign off on all dispatch records (picking, scanning, labelling, qty count and load report)
Daily recording, sign off and submitting of all shift’s reports
Update daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s tracking reports to show progress
Ensure timely submission to HR on staff report (staff hours, sick days, leave or behavioural issues)
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including shift reports, attendance, productivity metrics, and incidents.
Provide regular reports to warehouse managers or senior management on shift performance, challenges, and achievements.
Ensure that warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems, is in good working condition.
Report any maintenance needs or repairs and coordinate with maintenance teams or external vendors
