Permanent - Chemistry Lab Analyst - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

Job scope:

Accurately analyse samples supplied to the laboratory to the specifications. 

Calibrate, verify and maintain laboratory equipment. 

Maintain laboratory documentation in compliance with GMP and regulatory standards. 

Ensure all reagents are correctly prepared, dated, labelled, stored and maintained at sufficient levels to avert any “out of stock” delays. 

Wet chemistry -Titrations and standardisation of volumetric solutions. 

Ensure that reference standards are correctly stored and maintained. 

Conduct analytical testing using IC, HPLC, GC, IR, pH and Viscometer. 

Ensure all documentation is timeously completed and adequately stored to facilitate easy retrieval. 

Carry out QA checks and supporting other departments with quality related Functions. 

Support continuous improvement initiatives with the laboratory

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in chemistry or related scientific field with major chemistry. 

1 year experience is an advantage. 

Familiarity with GLP, GMP and ISO 22716 standards added advantage. 

Strong attention to detail, problem solving and accuracy skills 

Time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Witten and verbal communication skills for documenting and reporting results.
