- The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities within Plant 2.
- The role ensures maximum equipment uptime, improved reliability, reduced downtime, and compliance with safety and quality standards in a high-volume automotive spring manufacturing environment.
- This role is critical in supporting production efficiency and meeting strict OEM quality and delivery standards.
Key Performance Areas
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans for all plant equipment.
- Schedule preventative and predictive maintenance activities to minimize production disruption.
- Prioritize reactive work orders in coordination with production.
- Prepare job plans including labour, tools, parts, permits, and safety requirements.
- Maintain and update the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Equipment Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring breakdowns.
- Drive improvements in equipment reliability and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
- Assist in developing predictive maintenance strategies.
- Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives.
Spare Parts & Inventory Control
- Identify critical spares and ensure appropriate stock levels.
- Work with procurement to source parts cost-effectively.
- Monitor parts usage and reduce emergency purchases.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise daily with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Coordinate contractors and external service providers.
- Provide clear weekly maintenance schedules to stakeholders.
- Report KPIs including downtime, schedule compliance, and backlog.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with HSE standards.
- Support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Ensure statutory inspections and certifications are completed on time

Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in the preparation of the annual maintenance budget.

- Track labour, contractor, and spare parts costs.
- Provide monthly cost reports and variance analysis to management.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or reliability.
- Support capital expenditure planning for equipment upgrades or replacements.
- Reduce emergency spending through improved planning and forecasting.
