Responsibilities:
- Supervise all aspects of the maintenance electrical, mechanical and boiler making departments.
- Prioritise and delegate daily tasks.
- Ensure optimum productivity and quality of work by subordinates at all times.
- Implement preventative maintenance, reduce time, improve productivity and manage plant modifications.
- Ensure OSH Act compliance.
- SOP’s Job observation and administrative controls.
- Responsible for driving risk assessments in the department.
- Ensure that hazardous tasks and SHE risks have been identified and discussed with employees.
- Chair SHE toolbox talks.
- Discuss relevant SHE incidents and newsletters with employees.
- Check all tools and equipment for defects.
- Maintain adherence to SHE program.
- Ensure work is conducted safely.
