Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Oversee general ledger and reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Monitor company cash flow and liquidity
• Ensure accurate financial recordkeeping

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Develop annual budgets
• Prepare financial forecasts and variance analyses
• Monitor departmental expenditure against budget

Compliance & Tax

Ensure compliance with:

• IFRS / IFRS for SMEs
• Companies Act
• SARS requirements
• VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax submissions
• Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants

Asset & Fleet Finance Management

• Manage asset registers
• Calculate depreciation and wear-and-tear allowances
• Monitor financed assets and lease obligations
• Analyse vehicle profitability and lifecycle costs

Reporting

• Produce:
• Monthly financial reports
• Management dashboards
• Cash flow reports
• KPI analysis
• Present financial performance to directors or shareholders

Internal Controls & Risk

• Implement financial controls and procedures
• Reduce financial and operational risks
• Ensure proper authorization processes

Team Management

• Supervise finance staff
• Train and develop finance personnel
• Conduct performance evaluations

Technical Skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with accounting systems such as:

• Sage
• Xero
• Pastel
• QuickBooks
• SAP

Strong understanding of:

• Financial modelling
• Cost accounting
• Deferred tax calculations
• Asset financing structures
• Lease accounting

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional qualification advantageous:
• CA(SA)
• CIMA
• ACCA
• SAIPA
• Valid driver’s licence (if operational travel is required)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in finance/accounting
• At least 3 years in a management role

• Financial reporting
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Tax compliance
• Cash flow management
• Audit preparation
• Payroll oversight
• Financial analysis
• Industry experience in fleet management, vehicle rental, logistics, or asset-based businesses advantageous
