Job Purpose
- The Product Manager (PM) will be responsible for overseeing the entire product life cycle of company ’s Gas detection instrumentation from concept to market release and beyond.
- This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in product management, a deep understanding of the mining industry and a passion for advancing safety technologies
Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Vision
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to define a clear product vision.
- Formulate a robust product and market strategy aligned with company Systems' overall business objectives.
- Derive product requirements from market requirements, product strategy and vision.
Product Development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production and quality assurance to drive the development of the OSS systems and products.
- Coordinate and conduct R&D to ensure the product aligns with cutting-edge technologies and industry standards.
- User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX)
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform development decisions.
- Responsible for coordinating lab scale testing, on site testing and site trials.
Project Management
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Prioritise tasks, manage resources effectively, and navigate potential roadblocks to keep the project on track.
- Responsible for the document configuration of designs, requirements, certifications, approvals, training material, manuals, bill of materials, test and trial results etc.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Interface with key stakeholders, including customers, internal teams and external partners to gather feedback and ensure alignment with market needs.
- Communicate project updates, timelines, and milestones to various stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration.
Quality Assurance
- Implement rigorous testing protocols to ensure that the products and System meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to identify and address any product deficiencies promptly.
Market Launch
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy, including product positioning, pricing, and promotional activities.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling product messaging and collateral.
- Coordinate and support Proof of Concepts (PoC) activities.
Post-Launch Management
- Monitor product performance in the market and gather user feedback for continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to address any issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
