Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to provide for the profitable and efficient operation of the branch, with full accountability for administration, engine, service and spare parts sales and overall management and control of branch personnel and operational development

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Maximize sales and marketing activities: drive and optimize the branch's sales and marketing efforts to achieve maximum results.
  • Implement and maintain efficient administration: establish and uphold an effective administrative system to support branch operations.
  • Develop robust communication systems: create and sustain a strong communication and reporting framework for seamless information flow.
  • Manage resources, assets, and inventory: oversee and optimize the use of resources, management of assets, and control of stock
  • Control sales and expense budgets: effectively plan and manage operational sales and expenditure budgets to meet financial objectives.
  • Train, develop, and manage staff: lead, train, and support the team to ensure high performance and compliance with company standards.
  • Oversee SHEQ management: ensure effective management of safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) systems in line with regulations and company policies

Qualifications Required:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess a three-year degree or post matric diploma in business management plus 3-5 years managerial experience.
  • More than 5 years sales and service experience in the respective technical field.
  • Qualified artisan (diesel fitter / mechanic) would be advantageous

Specific Knowledge required:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and extensive experience in the diesel engine, spare parts sales, equipment, and service markets.
  • Strong understanding of the company’s strategic objectives, with proven ability to align efforts for business success.
  • Proficient in accounting principles, including interpreting balance sheets, cash flow, and income statements.
  • In-depth knowledge of SHEQ legislation, labour laws, and tender processes.
  • ADVANCED computer skills, particularly in MS Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
  • Skilled in negotiation, sales, and marketing, with experience liaising with senior-level customers.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and coaching abilities, with a focus on recruitment, training, and professional development.
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to delegate effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in report writing and delivering impactful presentations.
  • Highly creative, innovative, and results-oriented, with the ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships internally and externally
