Job Purpose

  • To lead the sales function by developing and executing sales strategies that increase revenue, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships within the telecommunications, civil engineering, water infrastructure, construction, and utilities sectors.
  • The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets while managing and developing the sales team.
  • company  manufactures HDPE ducting and piping solutions for telecommunications and infrastructure markets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual sales and business development strategies.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and motivate the external and internal sales teams.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales and profitability targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities within municipalities, contractors, telecom companies, distributors and engineering firms.
  • Manage key accounts and build long-term relationships with strategic customers.
  • Prepare quotations, tenders and contract proposals.
  • Conduct customer visits and technical presentations.
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends.
  • Forecast sales and prepare monthly management reports.
  • Develop pricing strategies while maintaining profit margins.
  • Work closely with production, planning and logistics to ensure on-time customer deliveries.
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade shows and networking events.
  • Drive export and regional sales opportunities where applicable.
  • Ensure CRM data is accurate and sales activities are properly recorded.
  • Monitor sales KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or Engineering (advantageous).

5–10 years' technical sales experience within:

  • HDPE pipes
  • Plastic manufacturing
  • Water infrastructure
  • Civil engineering products
  • Telecommunications infrastructure
  • Construction materials
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing a sales team.
  • Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of tender processes and project sales.
  • Valid South African driver's licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.
