Permanent - Procurement/Inventory Control Supervisor - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

Brief description of Key Performance Areas:

Monitor branch SCT report regularly and liaise with relevant branch for long outstanding stock transfers. 

Managing and following up of back-orders.

Providing of accurate information to other departments i.e., engineering and workshop. 

Monthly reporting. 

Achieve personal and branch sales targets (individual and team KPI).

Assist with all stock take (including preparation) outside business hours as and when needed.

Adherence to all company health and safety policies. 

General administration: reports as required by department head. 

Ensuring to compliance for audits: Health and Safety, IT, HR, and Finance.

Overseeing the shipping department, FEC, ROE, LCT shipments etc. 

Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures.

Inspect the levels of suppliers / raw materials to identify shortages. 

Ensure that product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers. 

Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory. 

Manage the ERP system / monitor demand and characteristics of inventory.

Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficient or excessive surplus inventory. 

Analyse sales data to anticipate future inventory needs. 

Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost effectiveness, deal with and maintain trust relationships.

Collaborate with stores / warehouse employees to ensure that similar goals are met. 

Report on upper management on stock levels or issues regarding inventory.

Controlling daily cycle counts.

Planning and running of stock control during stock take. 

Report of Open Order Status, Order Payments (Information for Exposure Report) 

Reporting of GIT 

Maintain the stores by working with stores supervisor.

Develop and record a suitable supplier database and maintain and measure supplier performance.

Procure according to BEE criteria, All local suppliers must be compliant with BEE, Keep in mind Quality, Price, Service are also important. 

Effectively manage and ensure full compliance with the SHEQ Management System

Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required:

Minimum Grade 12 or Equivalent 

Supply Chain Management diploma.

Minimum 5 years proven experience inventory control or similar position. 

Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.

Working knowledge of inventory management software ERP
